Actress Anne Hathaway to protest Rick Warren at inauguration

In the spirit of encouraging fairness among the Hollywood types with regard to political leanings and activism, I say we boycott Anne Hathaway's new movie "Wedding Wars" to protest her protest against Rick Warren.
According to Foxnews:
"She speaks her mind about issues she feels passionately about.
One of them is Barack Obama—whom she backed—and his choice of Rick Warren as the Obama Inauguration’s clergy of choice.

“I am against it,” Hathaway told me at the after party last night amid champagne toasts to her, to Streep, and to her “Rachel” co-star Rosemarie Dewitt. “My older brother is gay, and so its a family issue for me. My father is coming with me to the Inauguration. At first we discussed not going, and then we thought we’d just turn our backs when he [Warren] speaks. But we didn’t want to be disrespectful. So we’re going to wear ribbons protesting his appearance.”

So she’s outspoken, and polite. That’s a combination you can’t beat."

Do you think they would say the same thing about a conservative activist in Hollywood?

The liberal activist actors think nothing about throwing their opinions around (how many times have they threatened to move out of the country if a conservative Republican was elected President...I say "go! and good riddance to you!") - yet the conservative ones fear for their jobs. So in the spirit of fairness...
The truth is, I would never be able to get my husband to see that chick flick with me anyway.

It's amazing how far Anne Hathaway has "come" since playing a Mormon woman in "The Other Side of Heaven" at the beginning of her career.

thanks for this post.

the part that is the core of Anne's issue: her brother is gay.

So she is only considering her brother's feelings.

She does not consider the children, or the purpose of marriage in society.

I lost a lot of respect, I have to say.

"Do you think they would say the same thing about a conservative activist in Hollywood."

If the "they" in that question is the Fox "News" folks, then the answer is an unequivocable yes.

Anne Hathaway has indeed descended the steps of Hollywoodization to join the ranks of the Born Again Liberals. She doesn't have far to go before she completes her path to the Dark Side and follows in the footsteps of the degraded women entertainers: Madonna, Britney, Lindsay Lohan, with Miley Cyrus heading up the rear. Such a pity too. She started out all right.

"She does not consider the children,..."

Whose "children" are you referring to?

"...or the purpose of marriage in society?"

Which is what? Procreation? Then why aren't you advocating that heterosexual infertile couples not be allowed to marry?

Pearl, I remember that movie, I didn't realize that was her. How disappointing.

Your questions (which are common ones if you don't believe in supporting traditional families) have already been addressed in previous posts on this site. Read on, my friend! There are boatloads of studies that have been done in support of traditional families...and adoption is a very big part of that! You will see a link to a blog that I support which is written by a licensed therapist who works with men suffering from same sex attraction - she has done TONS of research and shares it with the public on her blog. This information is not popular just now, but that doesn't make it untrue. I recommend you spend some time and read up. You might be surprised what you learn.

I am surprised that such a liberal president-elect would think to select a clergyman of any kind in the first place. But the fact that Anne Hathaway is in protest of it, disgusts me. Hollywood liberals love to throw their political opinions around. But how dare anyone disagree with them. They make up their own way to live in this world and think there is no one to answer to but themselves. Such misguided people. I am protesting her new movie and plan to encourage everyone I meet to do the same.

Why?

I look to the skies for direction. Shame on Anne Hathaway for thinking independent thoughts. When will she learn the rules and regulations of marriage that all mankind must follow or else face life in Hell? These Hollywood liberals will surely go to Hell! Just wait...They will show up at the pearly gates and be denied entry and I will laugh gleefully as Satan takes their souls.

Anne has no care for the children being damaged by these sexpot homosexual faggot people who think we should consider feelings.

What about how God feels? Let's think about Him for He is the one we must consider. How we feel comes second to Him.

It makes it hard to take your opinions seriously when you call people names.

I guess Anne is free to have her own opinion even though I think she is wrong.

"I guess Anne is free to have her own opinion..."

You GUESS Anne is free to have her own opinion?!

The whole point of this post was to point out the unfairness in Hollywood activism. The liberal activists, who are of course allowed to have their opinions, are praised and quoted all over the media, while conservatives fear for their jobs. In a free country where our most basic right is the right to free speech, I find this appalling. And I am so sick of it. Which is why, no matter how many commentors come on MY blog to write asinine comments, I will never back down and will always speak my mind. And since it is MY blog, I can always erase the asinine comments, so be aware.

You seem to be conflating "First Amendment rights" with "job security." The First Amendment only offers protection for people from being imprisoned or fined by the government as a result of their speech speech, not from being canned from their place of employment for that same speech.

Ha! Try to get that argument to stick in court.
